Bird Park
BALI Bird Park is located at Singapadu Village, Sukawati, Gianyar (about 20 km east of Denpasar). Before 1995 the site was just an expanse of terraced rice fields. This extraordinary transformation is a tribute to the vision and energy of its creator, Edi Swoboda, a dedicated naturalist who lived in Bali for many years. In 2001 the park was taken over by Bali Adventure Tours and joined into the company's already extensive range of products.
Houses a fascinating collection of over a thousand birds, including varieties from all over Indonesia. One of the aims of the park is to breed endangered species in captivity, including the indigenous Bali Mynah. Those of you who are not necessarily interested in ornithology will be impressed by the two hectares of tropical gardens and walk-in rain forest.
The Park specializes in breeding rare Indonesian birds, such as the Bali Starling. Hundreds of the world's rarest and most beautiful birds greet you as you stroll through tropical gardens. The variety and radiance of Indonesian parrots will captivate and enthrall you and rare Cassowaries, Black Palm Cockatoos, Hornbills and one of the world's largest and most varied collection of birds will fascinate you.
Plans have now been drawn up for a number of new additions and improvements to the park which will include amongst other things an amphitheater for "live bird shows" creating a new interactive attraction for guests when completed. The botanical garden offers more than just a glorious myriad of bird life. A backdrop of ponds and waterfalls creates a perfect environment for not only the birds, but also a Lotus and Water Lily.
At the Park, visitors have the opportunity to encounter rare and remarkable birds from every corner of the earth. As you stroll throughout the park, your eyes will continually alight on a multitude of diverse palms and rich tropical flora. Wander through the mist-shrouded walk-in aviary, home to free flying birds in a dense rainforest setting.
The Park has the most species and the largest collection of Birds of Paradise in Indonesia and has been granted special permits to breed and conserve these majestic and highly endangered birds. Discover Bali Bird Park and all its magic with 1000 birds from 250 different species.
