FOR more informal sports, such as soccer (the most popular sports on the island), badminton, volleyball, hook up with the locals. Every village has a soccer field which is used by the locals schools. In the late afternoon it is open to the public and nearly everyday one can find a soccer game going on.
Sports in Indonesia include bull races, bull fights, rowing, and ram fights, all of which are held as part of special festivities. Silat, a martial art, can be performed as a dance or exercise and is comparable to Karate or Kung Fu. However, the most popular sports in Indonesia are soccer, badminton, and table tennis.
Golf is becoming more and more popular and a number of excellent golf course can be found across the archipelago. Most major hotels have their own tennis and squash courts, swimming pools, health clubs and those at seaside resorts provide equipment for sailing, surfing, scuba diving and windsurfing. There are also a growing number of dive shops which provide necessary equipment and professional services.

Badminton. Badminton is available at Kuta, Sanur,
and Denpasar. Also available at the Bali Hyatt, Grand Bali Beach and Sanur Beach Hotel. You can also to play in indoor stadium in Ngurah Rai Stadium at Jl. Melati, Tembau Stadium in north of Denpasar and Seraya Stadium in Jl. Jayagiri.
Billiards. Billiards are available at the Segara Leisure
Club, Sanur or Grand Bali Beach. To shoot
pool with locals, hang out at the pool center in Denpasar and Ubud. Several cafes in Bali, Kuta, and Sanur have this pool sites.
Bowling.
Bowling facilities can only be found at the Grand Bali Beach in Sanur. This bowling centre open from 4 to 8 pm, and you can have fun playing with the locals, even they usually use this place as a training center.
Lawn Bowling. Located between The Grand Hyatt
Hotel and Galleria Shopping Centre in Nusa Dua. Its offers full club house facilities for members and guests. Daily and weekly green fee plans are also available for tourist visitors.
Squash. There are several indoor squash courts and
complete fitness facilities at numerous larger hotels. Available at Clark Hatch Sports Clubs at the Sheraton in Nusa Dua, Discovery Kartika Plaza in Kuta, and Nikko in Nusa Dua.
Tennis. Almost five stars hotels provided with tennis
courts, instructor and sparing partner. There are several outdoor tennis courts, which can also be booked by outside guests. Private courts can be rented in Denpasar. You can find tennis courts as part of the resort complex of virtually every hotel in Nusa Dua, and in dozens of other top-end hotels around Bali.
Some tennis courts provide opportunities for members of the local community in Bali to join their five-star tennis club.
